The Point Cleaning Toolbox in NaviModel Producer brings together the tools used to remove noise from DTMs. The methods are grouped into three categories: automatic, semi-automatic and manual. Together with Accept everything and Save to External, they cover the whole cleaning workflow, from removing the bulk of the noise to correcting mistakes and saving the result back to the NaviEdit database.
Of the tools in the toolbox, only EC-3D can also be used on point clouds. EC-3D has its own manual: EC-3D Cleaning Tool Manual.
The manual covers:
- Opening the Point Cleaning Toolbox and cleaning point clouds from the Project Tree or the Point Cloud toolbar
- Automatic cleaning with S-CAN (S-CAN Setup, S-CAN Score and S-CAN Components)
- Semi-automatic cleaning with Histogram Plane Cleaning, Histogram Spike Shooting and Distance To Surface Cleaning
- Manual cleaning with the Point Editor, Reject, Accept and Accept Everything, Stencil Reject and Stencil Accept, and Cross Profile cleaning
- Quality control, undoing cleaning by region and writing cleaned data back to NaviEdit
None of the cleaning methods in the Point Cleaning Toolbox delete points. Points identified as noise are flagged as rejected and can be re-accepted.
