Q: How can I setup a user defined remote relative position driver in NaviPac?

A: In NaviPac a new vehicle needs to be created as a vessel type where the user defined remote relative position driver should be added. The offsets, I/O, string layout and string details needs to be set. NaviPac will automatically use the main vessel as the reference for the relative positioning of the new vessel created.

In the below example the dx, dy and dz option is used and the defined offsets for the relative position calculation are from the Main Vessel CRP.

A simple configuration with a Main Vessel and a second vehicle that needs to be positioned relative to the Main Vessel.

All the settings have been filed in accordingly and the project is saved and started. Offsets are relative to the CRP of the Main Vessel and not the Monopile and from here the relative position based on the dx, dy and dz is calculated.

While Online, the Main Vessel position and second vehicle (Monopile) is shown in the Map view and Object Monitor. Also, the raw data coming in can be seen in the NaviPac Raw data window.

Please note: NaviPac will discard the dx, dy and dz values if below 8 centimetres
