Q: My NVIDIA graphics card disappeared from Windows but is physically installed. What can I do?

A: Voyis VSLAM requires a supported NVIDIA GPU, so the card must be visible to Windows. If it has disappeared but is physically installed, try these first-step checks:

  • Check Device Manager: open Device Manager (right-click Start, or run devmgmt.msc) and look under Display adapters. A missing card, or one shown with a yellow warning triangle, points to a driver or detection issue. Use View > Show hidden devices to reveal it.
  • Reseat the card and check power: with the computer powered off, make sure the GPU is fully seated in its PCIe slot and that all PCIe power connectors are firmly attached.
  • Reinstall the driver: uninstall the current NVIDIA driver, restart, then install the latest driver from NVIDIA. A clean driver reinstall often restores a card that has dropped out of Windows.
  • Check the BIOS/UEFI: confirm the dedicated GPU / PCIe slot is enabled and not disabled in favour of onboard graphics.
