NaviSuite Kuda Core can build a digital terrain model (DTM) live during acquisition, so you can monitor coverage and the seabed surface as you survey.

Before you start

Make sure acquisition is running and NaviScan is connected. In the Project tree, check the Online node, green dots indicate an active, working connection. If the dots are red, remove the Online node and connect again.

How to create an online product

You can start it in two ways:

  • Right-click Project tree > Online > NaviScan, then click Create Online.
  • Use the Build Online DTM button in the Vehicle Control view (this replicates the Project tree action).

You can then choose between:

  • Online DTM - a gridded terrain surface built in real time from the incoming data.
  • Point cloud - the incoming soundings shown as a live point cloud.
  • Online Cleaning - lets you clean the data while acquisition is still ongoing.

The online DTM is displayed in the map view in Helmsman, so you can keep an eye on coverage and data quality during the survey.

Tip: If the online DTM or point cloud is slow to update or stops refreshing, check the Online node connection (green dots) and confirm that acquisition is still running.
